Allah Ta’ala has given man a sound mind. Based on this intellect, he makes big decisions. On the basis of this intellect, he also blesses people with his opinion.A person among human beings is one who thinks a little different from ordinary people. Sees the world with a critical eye. Unlike normal people, he thinks more carefully. Whatever he says (and whether it is true or not), his word becomes a document. Later, people give examples in their writings that such a thinker or researcher, such a politician or such a scientist, such a geographer or such an economist, etc., said so and so.
When a piece of writing is written, there are usually four types of audience. 1. Researchers, 2. Students, 3. Children, 4. Common people (people of all classes)Researchers: If the writing is written for research students, a researcher gives the purpose and message of his writing keeping in mind all the principles of research. For example, writing an ‘abstract’ first or creating a full research paper by following the rules of regular citation for any citation. The draft may use words and terms that are not popular with the public, but those to whom it is addressed will surely be familiar with those words and terms. If not, a new door of research will be opened for them.
Students: If a text is written for students, talk to students at the earliest age (eighth through twelfth grade, as students at this age are more interested in textbook explanations than in books). Therefore, choosing simple words according to their age is the first condition. For them, the texts talk more about the academic curriculum.Students are mostly engaged in their academic activities from morning till evening, trying to pass with good marks. Therefore, most of their searches are on subjects and explanations etc. related to their academic syllabus. The texts to be written for them should be specially considered to be closer to their syllabus. At the same time, whenever such texts are written, if it is written at the end, ‘For further use, see such and such book, such and such article in such and such link, then it will not only expand the students’ study but also in the examination. Along with being successful, you will also be successful in the practical field.
Children: These are children who have just started reading. Most writing for these children should be remedial. Also if it is in the form of stories, the child not only gets interested but his reading ability also increases. While writing for children of this age, keep these things in mind:The words should be very simple and easy so that the child can read the text easily.Essays should be written according to age.Essays are corrective.Quoting should be avoided as this age is only about understanding things.End with some advice.
Common People (people of all classes): The addressee of this text is ‘common people’, although it generally includes the educated class who are not associated with the field of research, however! He is far ahead of the less educated people. At the same time, it also includes those who are less literate or are only interested in reading newspapers and magazines. Or more, these people are aware of the current situation. If it is intended to write ‘any writing’ for such addressees, how should it be written? Whether to write by reference or not, in this context, some debates are closed:
Writing correctional topics for the people in the light of observations and experiences: writings in which one’s observations, experiences and then the message to be given to the public are given. This type of writing usually does not require any citations. That is, if something good or bad is developing in the society, then a comment, analysis and then a message is given on it.Giving a message by connecting the events of the past (recent and distant) with the present: In the light of the events that happened in the past, the author wants to give a message to the people, and he also knows that his addressees are straightforward. There are people, for whom he should arrange something like this in his writing:
Make your writing succinctly referential: The benefit of this is that when reading the text, the reader can be satisfied that what the writer is writing is based on truth, that is, it really happened on such and such occasion in the past. It should be remembered that the purpose here is not to tell the reader the principles of research, but simply to tell that the event he is writing or something about a person is really true and also with reference. For example, if there is a historical event in the writing, then the date of the said event should be written. For example, ‘Quaid-e-Azam presented his famous fourteen points in response to the Nehru Report.’ Presented.”The advantage of writing the history will be that one will increase the knowledge of the reader, secondly he will remember the history whenever the ‘fourteen points’ are mentioned.
Similarly, if it is necessary to refer to a person or a book, then at least give a brief reference to where it has been read (a book, a newspaper, a web link, etc.), so that the reader can refer to it at some point. He can confidently say that what he is saying is not wrong. For example, what Siddique Salik (Brigadier General Muhammad Siddique Salik, d. 17 August 1988) observed regarding East Pakistan, if a writer quotes his quote or paraphrases it, at least his book Give the name that it is written in Siddique Salik’s famous book ‘Maine Dhaka Dobte Dekha’, etc. This is the age of social media, anything is verified in seconds. How can a writer interest a reader if he doesn’t cite? Briefly, the benefits to a writer and reader as a result of citations are as follows:
Establishing your credibility: References provide evidence that the information presented in the article is based on reliable and authoritative sources. Authors establish their positive credibility by citing credible sources and making it clear that they carry enough weight that what they are saying is verified.Additional Resources for Readers: References strengthen the validity of the article as well as provide additional resources for readers to explore further.
Access to original material: One of the advantages of references is that when a reader thinks that a certain book was mentioned in the author, by studying it, he not only has easy access to that book but also Also uses more.Enhancing the value of the article: Citations give the reader an opportunity to have a well-rounded discussion about the topic. This increases both the value and the value of the article.Cognitive training of the reader: One of the major advantages of this type of writing is that the reader is being silently trained, he starts accessing the original by looking at the references. In today’s media age, accessing original writing has become very easy.
Choice of simple words: As it is clear in the above verse that the addressees are ‘common people (people of all classes)’, when writing a text for them, relatively simple words should be chosen, lest it happen that The reader should be stuck in the confusion of words while reading the text. Similarly, if it is necessary to use terms, the meaning must be explained at least once in parentheses. The fact is that citations and easy word choice are important in essays because they increase the credibility of the general reader, develop arguments and improve the overall value of the content. Knowledge is developed only when arguments are discussed. The beauty of a scholarly, literary and moral society is that your writings are referable and simple.
